Does anyone know of a good CDP agent (free) for Windows servers that will allow CDP information from the servers to be sent to the switch?
Thanks,
Mike

While I have personally not used it (I use FreeBSD for my servers), some of our customers have reported success with Tallsoft's CDP monitor. Not sure about cost, though.

I checked and it costs $10 per server for what I would need...I was hoping for a free one out there.

There might not be a free one because, as far as I know, CDP is proprietary, and I don't believe Cisco has released it into the public domain.

An alternative may be considering using lldp instead. It's on by default on Windows PCs.

Hello,
I found the procedure linked below, it involves a Python script. Not sure if that works on a Windows server...

Are we all discussing the same "CDP" (Cisco Discovery Protocol)?

Hello Joseph,
I hope so. My bad if I sent a link that is not related, but it looks like CDP related...(?)

Laugh - CDP, definitely, Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP), I suspect not. Seems to part of some expansive cloud management/monitoring. Honestly, couldn't find a clear definition of what its CDP stands for.
