I have a 2800 with a HWIC AP card. I'm trying to set up a basic wireless access point. It is my 1st time setting up a Cisco AP. I followed the Cisco documentation, but I still cannot see the wireless network from my card. Here is the wireless configuration:

dot11 ssid test

authentication open

interface dot11Radio0/2/0

Ip address

ssid test

speed basic-1.0 basic-2.0 basic-5.5 6.0 9.0 basic 11.0 12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0

station-role root

any help would be greatly appeciated.

I have this problem too.

The AP side configuration looks ok. If you are not able to see the network from the wireless client, it could be a client side issue. Are you using ACU or ADU for configuring the client?

I am not using the Aironet client or desktop. I have 802.11b/g users with Apple laptops, Apple Iphones, Windows PC Wireless clients, and Gaming consoles such as PS3/WII/Xbox. I am new to the Cisco wireless environment. It appears that I have a hidden SSID, which I will want later, but right now I want a broadcasted SSID.

It appears that the command "guest-mode" enables the broadcast of the SSID.
