Dear sir,

Iam having 2924 switch in that frontpanal system light is glowing orange colour and 4 ports r glowing orange colour plz give reply why it was .

It seems that you have lost an ethernetcontroller. The amber system LED is an indication for the detection of a failure.

From the sh ver output I read that the system thinks it has only 26 ports, the total amount should be 30 (24 + 4 + 2).

Being a hardware failure, there will not be much to do about this, the 2924 series is old and forgotten.

An Amber system LED means that it is not functioning properly. It generally means that the device has failed the POST which could be due to incorrect image.

The other ports if amber could be due to the following reasons

It is initializing

It was disabled by management or by an address violation

It was blocked by Spanning Tree Protocol
