Hi, I need to apply FWSM security filetring in transparent mode for only few host of an existing server-farm vlan. I'd like to use the existing server-farm vlan for the outside firewall vlan and I'd like to cretate a new vlan for inside firewall vlan.

Then I move some hosts from existing server-farm vlan to the new vlan for firewall filtering.

In this way hosts on existing vlan are exposed and host moved are protected, without any IP change, only vlan host assignement.

Does it run ?

Yes this should run fine. As you say as long as you move the hosts you are looking to protect into the new vlan that will be filtered by the FWSM it should all work.
