set auto is up, hardcode goes down, why?

Full story is, when we plug a device to a Giga port, no matter notebook or server, that switch port will work normally if config duplex and speed as auto. (Result is 100MB/Full)

But if we config as:

speed 1000

duplex full

The port will immediately down.

With same device plug to another port (within same module), hardcode as 1000/Full, working fine.

The diagnostic test on the module have no problem.

Not sure why it's port dependant, but if you want

to fix speed/duplex you should do so on both sides.

Thanks

check to see if auto mdix is enabled on that port , if it is that will shut down the port using anything but auto as mdix will only work as auto , just something to check.
