Is cisco 3560 support VPN?

Unanswered Question

I'm new in networking.

I found that cisco router 28XX

has the VPN feature in the security option:

Security Solutions

Network Admission Control (NAC)

Voice & Video Enabled IPSec VPN (V3PN)

Optional Security Modules

IDS/IPS Network Modules (NM-CIDS portfolio)

VPN and Encryption Advanced Integration Modules (AIM-VPN portfolio)

Content Engine Network Modules (NM-CE portfolio)

Is the layer 3 switch "cisco 3560" support the same VPN feature as the router?

Wayne Wan

I have this problem too.

Wayne, unfortunately no vpn features , you need an actual router, the 3560-3560-E L3 switches are not full blown routers, these have their limitations, for example there are three IOS feature sets for 3560s IP Base L2 forwarding, Base IPv6 services Basic routing , security IP Services Full EIGRP and OSPF, Multicast routing , PBR and Advanced IP services IPv6 routing, none of which supports vpn's.

You may download this file for specs on 3560 3560-Es
