Router serial interface burstable to 3.0M

We have our Internet connection set up as a burstable 0-3M frame-relay link.

The serial interface is a standard WIC-1T. The bandwidth on the interface is showing the default of 1544Kbit.

I have been seeing a lot of FECN flags on the connection.

Monitoring shows this link is using well beyond the 1.5M most of the time.

I know the BW parameter on the interface is not a setting for the inteface, but is this a problem with this interface as far as, am I not getting the full benefit of the 0-3 M bandwidth?

or will the WIC1T utilize as much bandwith as the provider gives us?

Hi Richard, the circuit provider should be able to provide you how much bandwith currently the circuit is using, you are probably going over 2 megs,I personally have not worked with WIC-1T but rather the ones with integrated csu/dsu's T1 cards, but as I read the WIC-1T maximun sync speed is 2.048 Mbps , you probably would want to look into other options such as bonding two T1s MLPPP to get full 3 megs benefit.
