4948 QoS TX Queue Shaping ** Urgent help needed please **

Unanswered Question

Guys,

If I have 4 queues on a 4948 port and I want to put EF in Q3, AF41 in Q2 and BE in Q1, using the cos-map config, how can I ensure that Q1 is going to drop packets under congestion before Q2 and Q3 start dropping?

I only thing I can see is the shape command under the TX Queue, that would ensure that certain queues get a certain amount of B/W, but if I do this, there is no re-use policy (it looks like) when if there were no AF41 and BE was congested, BE could not re-use the TX-Q2's bandwdith for BE?

Can anyone please advise?

Many thx,

Ken

I have this problem too.

May be the WRED settings are not changed from the current QoS defaults; only the CoS-to-threshold map is changed.
