I have a Cisco 837 for home Internet. I also use it to VPN to work, I use the Cisco VPN Client, I don't want a dedicated VPN, but what is this Easy VPN client feature? Can my router connect to work like the VPN Client, but the router does it?

By implementing a feature called Cisco Unity Client Protocol configuration involved in VPN is made much easier. For more refer URL http://cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6350/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080455b7d.html#wp1068541.

Thanks.
Is Cisco Unity Client Protocol basically a IPSec VPN tunnel (site-to-site)?
Or is the router acting just like a Cisco VPN client?

Hi,
With Cisco EasyVPN, you can configure you router to become a 'VPN Client' only building up VPN sessions when needed and tearing them down when they timeout.
It is very easy to configure (Pun intended). You need only configure the Easy VPN server at you HeadOffice router and it will give you the configuration for your Home router.
Easy :)
HTH, If so please rate post

Hi, I currently have a cisco concentrator configured at my HQ, we have site to site vpns and cisco VPN client users using it.
I know the info that goes into our VPN client software to connect, do I just use this on the easy VPN client?

Hi,
Of course :)
Just enter the info into the easyVPNClient and it will initiate the connection when interesting traffic is seen.

How does the router know the "interesting traffic" is for the VPN and not the Internet to bring the tunnel up?
