Strange Cisco Console Server

Hi,

I'm having a strange problem with my Cisco Console Server. The console server seems to be sending its hostname to some of the consoled devices causing them to lock up after an amount of time ?

Has anyone seen this ?

Fom time to time is also sends the Command not recognised ouput to the remote devices.

The remote devices are then sending their output back to the Cisco which keeps open sessions all the time.

Any pointers would be great

In my experience the thing that most often produces symptoms similar to what you describe is that the console server has an exec process running on the line which connects to the remote device. Configure "no exec" on the lines connecting to the remote devices and let us know if the situation improves.
