Dears,

i have Firewall with 4 ports FE is configured as transparent mode..... how many interfaces i can configure in this mode.

i heared just one output interface and one input interface i can configure in this mode...is that true?

or can i configure 2 FE as output and 2 FE as Input.


thx for any advice or help.

Accoding to the ASA manual:

Note Transparent firewall mode allows only two interfaces to pass through traffic; however, on the The ASA 5510 and higher adaptive security appliance, you can use the Management 0/0 interface (either the physical interface or a subinterface) as a third interface for management traffic. The mode is not configurable in this case and must always be management-only.


Also if you desire yopu can configure your device in multiple context mode and use all 4 interfaces. 2 for each context.
