One voicemail box for 3 users

Is it possible to create one voicemailbox (Unity) for 3 users? This voicemail box should work if one of these 3 users can't pickup their phone. I'd appreciate if someone can help me.

Thanks.

Alternate extensions should do it.

Hi Sana,

Just to add a note to the good info from Imad.

Sharing a Cisco Unity Voice Mail Box between Two or More IP Phones

Configure Alternate Extensions

Open the Unity System Administrator web page.

Navigate to the subscriber's profile. Select Subscribers > Find and Select a Subscriber > Enter Subscriber Information then click Find and click the Subscriber's name for the subscriber that owns the primary phone.

When the subscriber page comes up, select the Alternate Extensions option and click Add.

Enter the alternate extension number and click the Save icon.

Hope this helps!

Dear Rob,

I forgot to mention that it's Unity Express and not Unity.

Thanks,

Sana

Hi Sana,

You can only share a mailbox between two users in CUE:( Have a look;

Q. How do you associate more than one Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express extension to a Cisco Unity Express voice mailbox?

A. It is possible to have up to two numbers in the same Cisco Unity Express (CUE) User profile. Configure the first number as the Cisco Unity Express User Primary Extension, and the other number as the Primary E.164 number. However, only two Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express extensions are allowed to share the same mailbox in the Cisco Unity Express voicemail.

From this good Q&A doc;

Place one ext in the primary ext field, and the other in the E.164 field

phonenumber - Specifies a number or extension for this user. No spaces or dashes are allowed.

phonenumberE164 - Specifies a telephone number with area code for this user. No spaces or dashes are allowed.

Example:

se-10-0-0-0(config)# username user3 create

se-10-0-0-0(config)# username user3 phonenumber 50180

se-10-0-0-0(config)# username user3 phonenumberE164 13335550180

You may be forced to use a General Delivery Mailbox/Group Mailbox;

General delivery mailbox (GDM)-This mailbox is assigned to a group of users. (See "Adding and Modifying a Group" for the definition of group members.) All members in the group have access to the mailbox. When a caller leaves a message in this mailbox, no MWI is turned on. Instead, when a member logs in to the personal mailbox, the mailbox menu allows the member to access the messages in each GDM to which the member belongs. Only one person can access the GDM at a time. After the first person saves or deletes a message in the GDM, the message is no longer played as "new" for any subsequent members.
