Hi, you can see the last time your ports had any activity in or out using show int modifiers, these commands reduce show output to smaller detail information. Try this command for data activity, hope it helps.
switchint#show int fa0/22 | inc output
Last input 00:00:18, output 00:00:00, output hang never
5 minute output rate 2000 bits/sec, 3 packets/sec
26896 packets output, 2337231 bytes, 0 underruns
0 output errors, 0 collisions, 4 interface resets
0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out
switchint#show int fa0/22 | inc input
Last input 00:00:09, output 00:00:00, output hang never
Output queue 0/40, 0 drops; input queue 0/75, 0 drops
5 minute input rate 1000 bits/sec, 3 packets/sec
20117 packets input, 1865955 bytes
38 input errors, 37 CRC, 1 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored
0 input packets with dribble condition detected
