Steps for CCNA Prep

Unanswered Question
Nov 30th, 2007

I'm wanting to purchase training materials for CCNA preperation but am confused on what exactly I should buy. The 3 titles that mention the CCNA test 640-802, including the CCNA Official Exam Library, which sounds like the main publication for the test I'm guessing, are not available at this time. I'm also wondering, I CCNA only 1 test, or are ICND 1 and 2 test you have to take also to become CCNA certified???

I have this problem too.

As far as study material go, make sure you get the CORRECT and up to date flavors. The main "big book" for the CCNA study guide:

There are two ways to get your CCNA certification.

Step #1: take it in a single exam (640-802).

Step #2: take it in two seperate tests: ICND1 (640-822) and ICND2 (640-816).

If you are very new to Cisco networking, it will be much easier for you to tackle it in two seperate exams. To study for ICND1:

Then to study for ICND2:

This is a good book to use. Wendell has a great way of explaining the concepts.
