For a CCVP home lab, I suggest the following:

• 2 Cisco 2811s (HQ, Branch 1)

BR1:

2x PVDM2-8

VWIC-1MFT-T1

WIC-1T

NM-16ESW-PWR

2811 IP Telephony power supply

HQ:

1x PVDM2-8

VWIC-1MFT-T1

WIC-1T

VIC2-2FXS

• 1 Cisco 3725 (Branch 2)

NM-CUE (not needed for CCVP but fun to play with)

NM-HDV (w/ 2 PVDM-12 modules)

VWIC-1MFT-E1

WIC-1T

• 1 Cisco 2811 for PSTN/WAN cloud

VWIC-2FT-T1

VWIC-1MFT-E1

NM-4A/S

• 2 Cisco Catalyst 3560 w/ POE running EMI code

• 7 Cisco 7960G IP Phones

• 1 Server w/ CallManager 4.1(3)

• 1 Server w/ Unity 4.0(5)

• 1 Cisco 2511 w/ Octal Cable and Ethernet Transceiver (For reverse telnet / terminal server)

This will be a very nice lab setup for you to build on to continue to CCIE Voice. You'll add a CCM sub, vg248, and cat6503 and you'll have a perfect ccie voice lab! :) (although the vg248 and cat6503 are very expensive!)

For the software (CCM) I suggest you use a VMWare image. It will make your life much easier.

You can also switch some of the devices for cheaper devices. For example, a 2610XM router for the HQ and BR1. Change the BR2 to a 2610XM and drop the NM-CUE module (dont need it for CCVP). Change the PSTN to a 3640. Just make sure you get the proper NM-HDV's if you change from a 2800 to a 2600XM. :)

What would be the absolute bare minimum I could use for a CCVP home lab before I attend the boot camp?
