Hi Ali
1) Not sure exactly what you mean by "partition" ?
2) You can upload the new IOS to the flash/disk etc. and set the new IOS with the "boot system .." command. But you still need to reload the sup or it to boot the new IOS.
3) Which IOS are you referring to. IOS's don't get fixed as such, you just go for a latre revision that has fixed the bugs. Have you searched for a later revision of the IOS ?

You don't need to do this. You can just put both IOS versions onto the flash partition (assuming you have enough space). You can then choose which one to use by the following command in global config mode.
boot system flash sup-bootflash:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF6.bin
To find out where your IOS is issue from enable mode
"dir /all"
You can also have IOS's stored on compact flash cards and you can pick which one to boot by using the "boot system flash .." command above.

1) why do you want to do this?
2) yes, it runs the IOS from DRAM (loads it from flash to dram upon boot up) so you can upgrade the IOS while it is up and running. the only thing, in order to use the new IOS, you will have to reload the sup engine
3) open a TAC case. there are cisco internal docs on some of the sup720 bugs w/ high cpu utilization. TAC should be able to assist you with that.
