Hi all, can anyone tell me the correct name for the time a firewall is allowed to keep a connection open for, and what is the actual default value for this ?

Hi,

I think that you refer to the maximum idle time duration.

See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/pix/pix63/command/reference/tz.html#wp1026093

For Cisco PIX version 6.3

The command should be "timeout".
