I have a red light on the 2nd internal HD on my 7835H server running CallManager 5 and Linux OS. I know its gone bad and needs to be replaced but this is the 2nd drive in 2 months. I need to find a way to test/diagnose trouble on an internal HD. Since this is runnig Linux OS I'm assuming you can do this through SSH, but I don't know how. I tried looking in RTMT and I didn't see anything to status the HD. Any suggestions?

could be bad controller giving you a red light due to a bug and not that the drive is bad...the SSH interface is very limited so you dont have access to typical linux debugging tools. If the server is under a support contract, suggest that the controller be replaced or the controller firmware upgraded to see if that helps.
