Hello everyone.

Can an 1240AG, working as a workgroup bridge, associate to MESH infrastucture?

I've read the WGB FAQ (doc id: 8018) but I didn't understand the LWAPP AP support WGB topic.

I would like to implement an MESH infrastucture but I have some devices that are connected behind am 1240AG WGB.

Cheers.

1240 can associate as a workgroup bridge to a LWAPP access point. But a minimum Cisco IOS Software Release 12.4(3g)JA or later is needed on 32-MB Flash access points. For 16 MB Flash access points it is Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JEB or later. Not much information handy specific to Mesh networks. But let me remind you Mesh access points are Light weight access points. So you can definitely give a try.

Thanks for the help Pengke11.

I'll not perform the upgrade (autonomous to LWAPP) this year but since there is not problems with integrating an automomous 1240AG WGB into an LWAPP infrastucture, I'll schedule the upgrade to 2008.

Best Regards,

Pedro

Yes, this appears to work OK. The important bit is to make sure your AP SSID is not configured in infrastructure mode. The 1240 will be treated as a normal client.
