Connecting 3750E interfaces for IP management

Hello,

I'm setting up several 3750E's as access switches and I'm wondering what is the best way to connect these switches to the OOB network for managability. I'm concerned that if I lose a switch in the stack that I won't be able to manage the stack at all (via SSH). I know that I can setup a ip address on my OOB VLAN on the stack but how should I physically connect the 3750E's interfaces to the rest of the network? If I uplink GigabitEthernet1/0/1 to the OOB network should I also uplink GigabitEthernet2/0/1 as well? STP should take care of the links, right?

thanks,

Ben

You can eliminate STP on this connection (and I actually recommend doing so) by configuring the OOB switchport as a routed port.

Example,

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/1

no switchport

ip address x.x.x.x y.y.y.y

thx.

If I want physically redundancy to each switch in the stack I'll need to setup a routed port (and IP) on one interface on each switch, correct?
