ip phone firmware

hii,

i have cisco 7906G ip phone and it's working but after some time it's rebooting problem so that we are erase flase file of phone but now how to upload a new firmware? is there any way to connect ip phone and upload new firmware??

Hi,

Do you have the phone firmware? You need a DHCP and TFTP server. For both functions you can use tftpd32 that is freely available. Advise when you have the necessary kit in place.

yes i having dhcp and tftp server but how o connect my ipphone and do this becoz in my phone notjing is display ??? plz advise me

In the DHCP settings, add option 150 with the address of the TFTP server.

Then on said TFTP server create a file called SEPxxxxxxxxxxxx.cnf.xml where xxxx is replace with phone MAC address.

In this file you need to have:

2000

192.168.4.2

P00308000700

replace the IP address againg with the TFTP server and the desired load file.

Also copy all the firmware files to the TFTP address.

If any problem, you need to observe the exchange with the DHCP and TFTP server.

Alternatively, you can connect your Ip Phone to a PC thru a simple lan cable. then download any tftp software and copy the required file as said.

tftp32 is a good one.
