Wax On Wax Off - Time Based QoS ACLs in Hybrid mode?

Hi,

I'm trying to implement some VLAN based rate policing that is only active during working hours. Naturally if using IOS I would used an ACL linked with a time-frame however I don't believe that there is this feature in CATOS.

Configuring QOS on the MSFC doesn't help because it will only apply to soft-switched data (of which there is none) so I believe.

So my question is; how do I automatically enable/disable QoS based on the time of day/week? (Ciscoworks isn't an option)

Hi,

To my knowledge you are right, CatOS does not support time based ACLs. As you need a feature currently not available, you can either live without the feature or redesign your network.

So you could use another switch supporting this feature to feed the traffic through it or use IOS instead of CatOS on a cron job on a unix machine ...
