how to block web msn? I coould able to block the normal msn with im inspection. but how to block web msn? can you give me the code please ?

AFAIK
Since you can block web msn by blocking signatures, and Cisco firewalls are not application layer devices, this is not possible with Cisco firewall alone.

no its possible. if you look at service polic you will see them. but I dont know how.

You can do this easily with Checkpoint
SmartDefense which is integrated into
Checkpoint firewall. It's so easy even
cavemen can do it.

I work with both Checkpoint and Cisco Pix, and
what you're asking can not be done with Cisco
Pix. Pix lacks the plugg-in module for these
features. Checkpoint can take care of this
via SmartDefense. Perhaps this can be done
with ASA with an IPS plugg-in module.

as i think we can block web messenger with the help of url filtering server like websense or smartfilter i have tested in smartfilter block whole category of instant messenger this will work both pix and asa 7.2 version
