Adding Presence to Unified Communications Manager.

My company recently installed Unified Communications Manager 6.0 Business Edition running on a 7828-H3 server. What would be need to do in order to implement Unified Presence? We are especially interested in using the Unified Personal Communicator software.

You need order another server, such as 7815. Order Presence server. You can load the appliance with the same software as the CUCM servers. It will integrate with the CUCMBE server.

Follow the setup docs for Unified Presence (CUPS)

Install the clients (CUPC)

So would we need a total of two servers or could the 7815 replace our existing 7828?

Keep your existing 7828, then add the 7815. I would advise on talking to a Cisco pre-sales engineer. They can provide the exact quote for you. Presence is great though!
