Hi,

Is it possible to bridge two different calls on different lines from the same phone?

7961 with 6 different DN's.

First incoming call on Line 1 and second incoming call on Line 2. Is it possible to Join/Bridge these calls.

Callmanager: 4.2

Thanks

M

Hi,

You can conference them together and then leave the call. System settings should have an appropriate conference bridge and such.

HTH, Avner.

Thanks for the reply.

The situation is like this,

Reception receives emergency incoming call to speak with a doctor on Line 1.

Reception sends a page to the doctor.

Doctor calls back on Line 2(since thats the only number he uses to call back).

How can the reception join these two calls on two different lines.

This is working right now with a traditional PBX, we want to make sure it works with Callmanager as well.

Thanks

M

Like I said, it should work (if configured correctly).

In CCM the lines are flexible enough so that you can create a conference from two separate lines.

Regards, Avner.

Hi Mudassir,

Just to add a note to the great info from Avner. If you setup Multiple calls capability on Line 1 and had the Doctor call in on Line 1 as well, you could use these two features. I think "Direct Transfer" may be perfect;

There is an available feature on CCM called Join or Conference Join which will do exactly this function. Have a look;

Conference by Using Join Softkey

The user initiates an ad hoc conference by using the Select and Join softkeys. During an established call, the user chooses conference participants by pressing the Select softkey and then the Join softkey. This makes it an ad hoc conference. Up to 15 established calls can be added to the ad hoc conference, for a total of 16 participants. Cisco CallManager treats the ad hoc conference the same way as one that is established by using the Conference softkey method.

Note: You cannot be the only person in an ad hoc conference.

Join

Using the Join softkey, a user can join up to 15 established calls (for a total of 16) to create a conference.

To implement Join, choose at least two calls and then press the Join softkey on one of the calls. Join can include more than two calls, which results in a call with more than three parties. Join supports up to 16 participants in a call. To choose an active or held call, highlight the call and press the "Select" softkey. A selected call has a checked indicator shown next to it on the phone. The call that initiates the Join gets automatically included, even if not selected.

From this doc;

Another great feature is called "Direct Transfer". Have a look;

Transfer two current calls to each other (direct transfer)

Scroll to highlight any call on the line and press Select. Repeat this process for the second call. With one of the selected calls highlighted, press DirTrfr. (You might need to press more to see DirTrfr.) The two calls connect to each other and drop you from the call.

Hope this helps!

Rob

Thanks Avner & Rob,

If I understand correctly Join, Conference, DT will work if you have multiple calls on the same line.

Avner -

If you could give me a hint on how to configure this in callmanager that will be great.

Thanks

M

The ability to conference two calls from different lines, should work by default, , have you tried it and had issues?

Also, if the doctor is on site, the receptionist can park the call and have him pick it up when he calls in. And there are many other ways, just make your pick ...

HTH, Avner.
