Broadband Aggregation

Hi,

we have to deploy a network for broadband aggregation with 2 7200 Routers. From the CPE's we bring VLANs to the Routers (wireless network).

What is the best practice for this?

The idea:

A PPPoE session to the AccessServer. Radius assigns the VRF instance or public IPs.

For redundancy:

It is possible to use the 7200 Routers in HA ? I think to configure something like this (in this example VLAN 10 the vlan of the first geografical area of customers):

Router 1:

---------

bridge irb

int fa 0/0.10

encapsulation dot1q 10

bridge-group1

int BVI1

ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0

Router 2:

---------

The same config as in Router 1 (except ip).

NOW, i bring the VLAN 10 to the two Routers. When one is down, the PPPoE Session is established to the second Router.

Can this work? Or what is the best method to use the two Routers in HA ?

Thanks and regards,

Thomas

I have this problem too.
