Hi Shiva,
Thanks for the reply.
Only giving the second IP address,is enough?
If the First IP address (Server) is down will it check the secondary IP address automatically or is there any commands need to be given ?
Overall can you pls tell me the process how it will switch over.

Hi Nasheer
if you use 2 ip-helper addresses then the router will use both at the same time. The first DHCP server to respond is the offer that is forwarded onto the client.
So it is not a primary and secodary setup, both ip helper-addresses are equal.

Hi Jon,
So if both the servers are ON,It will check on both the servers and ip will be assigned using any of the server.
But i want Ips shud be assigned using the First helper address and if it fails it should assign with the other address.
Pls suggest any configuration changes need to be done in the Network side.

Hi Nasheer
You can't do this as far as i know as the router will use both if you have 2.
What you can do is split your DHCP scope between the 2 DHCP servers so that either DHCP server will have available addresses for that particular subnet.
