Hi,
All PCs, DHCP are configured on VLAN 1(Native). A windows DHCP Server and Windows NT Domain are also found on VLAN 1.
VLAN 2 is also present and a L3 Switch acts as DHCP server for VLAN 2. VLAN 2 users authenticate on the Windows NT Server.
All VLAN 1 users can ping each other via the PC name. However VLAN 2 users cannot ping users on VLAN 1 via their PC name. How can this be achieved?
Thanks

Hi There
I would think that you would need to set up a DNS server if you want systems on different VLAN's to communicate using "PC Names" rather than IP addresses.
Best Regards,
Michael

For your DNS setup, you need to point all of the devices to the domain's DNS server. Also, you'll need to config either dynamic DNS updates or set everything up with a WINS server.
