outvia and invia in ipipgw

This is the configuration from ipipgw document:

gatekeeper

zone local GKVIA usa 10.16.8.24

zone remote GK919 usa 10.16.8.146 1719 invia GKVIA outvia GKVIA

zone prefix GK919 919*

I understand outvia, if call send to 919*, it will send to the gw in the GKVIA using outvia, but when do we need invia?

The "invia" keyword configures the gatekeeper so that incoming calls from the remote gatekeeper will traverse the IPIPGW in the via zone.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

1. the remote gatekeeper you refered here is the one defined in the remote zone statement?2. If I only use outvia, what's going to happen in the example I mentioned, will call to 919 still send to via zone ipipgw?

1. Yes

2. Yes
