LMS 2.6 on Sun V440z windows 2003 server: slowly web interface

Hi folks!

I've recently installed LMS 2.6 on Windows 2003 server operative system.

The HW is a Sun V440Z in RAID 5 with 4x72GB and the ram memory is 2GB.

The web interface, also on the local server, goes very slowly!

Anybody knows which is the problem for why goes so slowly?

Maybe could be the memory?

Thanks at all!

Leonardo

What do you mean by slow? What time frame?

Also, have a look at the prereqs for LMS, you aren't meeting the minimum RAM if you have an unrestricted license:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/cscowork/ps2425/products_quick_start09186a008073eddf.html#wp1027299

yes I saw it.

But I have less than of 300 devices!

Slow to be appear... 50 sec.

Slow in opening homepage component like DFM or RME or CW.

Is this on the server itself or via a remote client? If a client, are you going through a proxy server?

it's on itself server and also as a client.

The speed is the same.

We don't have a proxy server...

Do you think could be a name resolution?

Are you running it in ACS mode? I've noticed a big performance hit when using ACS mode due to each link you click generates a authorization request to your ACS server.

Hi Leonardo,

do you have a Ant-Vir program with live files system scan installed?

Just hae a try and disable the file system scan.

Good luck and best regards,

Frank

Yes, I have sophos antivirus client installed on.

Do you think could be that?

Hi Leonardo,

no i do not thin that the anti-vir may cause your problem.

Thats why i took my time and wrote the lines.

;-)

Of cours can a anti-vir client cause somethin like this.

Some companies use backup-agents on the windows machines. These clients also scan for changed files and backup them on the fly.

This could also cause a slow down of the installed apps.

The best thing to figure out if the applications or the LMS causes the slow down is to disable all not needed agents and servies for a while and test the behaviour.

Good luck and best reagrds,

Frank

This server have also two ethernet card with two IP address. Both IP address are in the same subnet.

I can access to the server with both IP address.

I didn't configure the teaming or other else.

Is it possible to disable the autonegotiate?

Thanks.

Leonardo

Hi Leonardo,

two IP Addresse in the same subnet??

What sense does this make??

Nevertheless the CW should have only ONE unique IP per subnet.

If you use more than one subnet there is a procedure for the multi-homed server here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_common_services_software/3.1/release/windows/notes/cs31_rn_win.html#wp1040453

So please deactivate the not needed NIC.

Good Luck,

Frank

The server has the following parameter:

- Sun Fire V40z AMD Opteron 3U Rack Mnt x86 Server: 2xAMD Opteron 844 CPUs, 2GBRAM,

I see in the Server Requirements for Windows Systems that:

- 2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or 2.8 GHz Intel Xeon processor.

Is it compliant?

Thanks

Leonardo
