Looking for TTS and ASR software to install on IPCC Premium server. I understood that the TTS and ASR software applications came w/ IPCC Express Premium, but was wrong. I would like Cisco preferred 3rd party SW vendors and part numbers if there is such a thing. I heard Nuance is #1, but $$...I don't care too much about price, but need to get something started.

Thomas,
All ASR/TTS speech software is now supplied by Nuance ( they bought out ScanSoft ), you can request a developer licence of all their software you just cannot run it in production. Check the CRS 5.x compatibility matrix http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/products/ps1846/c1683/ccmigration_09186a008086dfe9.pdf to see what versions of Nuance are suppored on your version.
Off the top of my head, you will need atleast 1 external windows 2000 server that runs the nuance software, the current versions you can use are MRCP Server 1.0 SP9, the ASR software is Nuance 8.5. If you want to use scansoft products you can use SWMS (speechworks media server ) v 3.1.6. You can use OSR ( Open speech recognition server ) v3.0.4.
Do not install this software on the CRS server it has to be standalone or clustered. You will have to provision the MRCP ASR Provider which is part of the ASR subsystem in CRS 5.x, that's the first step. Step 2 configure the MRCP ASR server in CRS 5.x, the port numbers for scansoft are 4900, nuance is 554. Finally configure the ASR dialog groups in CRS. Check that the ASR subsystem went into service via control panel, this will let you know your setup properly.
As far as scripting you have to define grammers on the CRS server. Then you write your script. I would look at the CRS step editor guide for 5.x to see what steps are available and how to use them.... here is the link. http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/sw_ap_to/apps_5_0/english/adminst/index.htm
