I want to remove port channel entries from my 5509 CatOS

I no longer want port channel, when I do â€œshow configâ€ I noticed the following which I no longer want. How may I remove it?

#Port Channel

set port channel 4/1-4 40

set port channel 4/5-8 41

set port channel 4/9-12 42

set port channel 4/13-16 43

set port channel 4/17-20 44

set port channel 4/21-24 45

set port channel 5/1-4 46

set port channel 5/5-8 47

set port channel 5/9-12 48

set port channel 5/13-16 49

set port channel 5/17-20 50

set port channel 5/21-24 51

set port channel 6/1-4 52

set port channel 6/5-8 53

set port channel 6/9-12 54

set port channel 6/13-16 55

set port channel 6/17-20 56

set port channel 6/21-24 57

Hi

Is this on a 6500 switch running CatOS. This is just part of the default config, it does mean they are actually port channels.

To see the actual port channels in use

"sh port channel"

and to tie the port channels up to channel groups

"sh channel"

You cannot get rid of those , those are just default groupings. On the old 5509's the port channels had to be on the same cards within port groupings , those are what those are telling you , if you wanted to make a port channel on mod 4 your port channel group would be relagated to ports 4/1-4 if those are the ports you chose to use , there was no cross module etherchannels on the older 5500's. Those commands don't hurt anything and are there by default , doesn't even mean there is a port channel configured on the box.

That is not true because they were not there until I copy pasted this configuration from another switch, also I have more of these same modules and these show for only module 4 to 6. I have 2 and 3 as well.

With CatOS, once you enter a configuration option, it will remain there.

One of my pet-peeves when dealing with CatOS, the configuration may become a bit messy.
