I wish to monitor an https url on port 8080 with IP SLA with IPM on LMS 2.6. When i say monitor i think about checking availability of a particular url https://url:8080 and have an alert action if the url don't respond.
Is it possible to do a such thing with IPM and IPM ?
While IPM 2.6 doesn't have a specific HTTPS operation defined, since you only want to check availability, you can simply define a TCP Connect operation testing port 8080.
I haven't used LMS 3.x/IPM 4.x, but it hasn't seemed to change signficantly when it comes to HTTPS monitoring. If you're concerned about the availability of a specific HTTPS URL while the main HTTPS site is up, I think tools such as HP SiteScope would fulfill your requirement better.
