All, Im curious as to why, when you upgrade an IOS on a router or switch using TFTP, sometimes the exclamation points, during the tftp process, goes fast, and sometimes it goes slow. Why is that?

The donwload is slow which could be for many reasons, but one thing you can check is make sure you don't have any mismatch in terms of half/full duplex on the link.

Yeah, thought about that, but had this on the same router. Did the first upload and it went really quick. Decided to put a different IOS on and it went really slow the second time. Its a gig port, and I have a little home switch that does auto-negotiation. Router set to auto as well. Hmm. Not sure.

good thing you're not a cat...
check your link speeds. that is most likely the issue, unless you had a bunch of other traffic going on during the slow IOS tftp.
