Austin, password recovery should not reset or change pix configuration other than password recovery only.As far as I know the reseting of PIX configuration is through either write erase or factory default settings commands through config mode. Just follow instructions carefully for password recovery and you should be fine. I would recommend to backup your pix configuration regularly.
