Seriale Cable Selection

Unanswered Question
Dec 15th, 2007

I have ordered for a Cisco 2811 Routers with 1 Port Serial Interface Card (WIC 1T Type Card) but the cable to connect to the modem i mentioned was CAB-SS-V35 type cables (10 feet Male Smart Serial Cable). Later I found that WIC 1T Card use CAB-V35 (normal) cable only. Smart serila have 29 Pin and V35 60 Pins.

Which means I can not use CAB-SS-V35 Serial Cable with WIC 1T card. Am I right ? Please add your comment asap.

No you can't. You need to use CAB-V35.

How did you made the mistake? Is it because this link that supposed to show WIC-1T from this link didn't actually show it?

In future, use Router Guide which clearly say DB60 for WIC-1T and Smart Serial for WIC-2T (see page 155)

CAB-V35 has been in the market for so long. Im sure you can find someone who is willing to exchange your CAB-SS-V35 to CAB-V35 with no charge :)

Hi Dandy,

Thakns a lot for the link and information.

There was some other devices also which use WIC 2T card so think some mistake in the copy paste.
