I'm currently running a Pix 525 with a failover. I'm on version 7.2(2) not sure which version to upgrade to? Has anyone had any experiences with 8.0(3) or 8.0(2) good or bad. thanks

I believe the release notes say if you're not running SSL vpn then you should stay with 7. I haven't had problems with either on ASA.

Hi,
I recently upgraded from 7.2 to 8.0(2) on a ASA 5510 and I had some problems with concurrent ipsec connections. Some of the connections were randomly refused. I had no time to stay on the problem becouse it was a production ASA, so i downgraded to 7.2(3)version and everything worked just fine.
Please come back if you experienced anything interesting after the upgrade.
Thanks,
Oszkar

I don't have any experience with 8.x, but I happened to read this in the 8.0(3) release notes last nite:
"SSL VPN customers are encouraged to upgrade to Version 8.0(3)."

ASA software is super buggy, so if it's not broke, don't fix it.
We've standardized on version 7.2(3).
Unless you need the features of a newer release, I'd leave it as-is.
