Could someone give me some advice regarding setting up an internet router.
The router connects directly to the ISP with a firewall sitting behind it protecting the LAN.
What is the standard setup and configuration for the router itself though?
What are the standard practice lock downs? Ports to be blocked? Access-lists in place etc?
I was thinking the most obvious is to block connectivity to the IP address of the router itself from outside?
Any help, advice or general guidelines would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Mike
There is a good paper on security cisco routers in general and a cisco border internet router in particular at sans.org.

Hi,
Here's a link from NSA http://www.nsa.gov/snac/ select Routers from the Product. Bonus, includes other devices, OS, applications, etc..
