Modem over ATA 186 problem

Guys,

Currently unable to dial out to an external (non IPT platform) modem via our ATA 186.

We are currently running CUCM V 6.0 over an MGCP Gateway running IOS 12.4(16).

Modem is trying to negotiate but fails due to numerous connection errors - Modem has not answered at far end etc.

Any ideas.

Modems are not supported on ATAs. That doesn't mean that they won't work, but they're not supported. You could try lowering the speed to 9600.

Note: ATA 186 is not supported for analog modem calls. The modem referred to throughout the documentation implies fax modem.
