Hi there,

In my experience, IP Phones are used for call center and IP Communicator is used for training. However, this can vary from center to center.

The only scenerio that I have seen with IPCommunicator in production is remote agents. However, that gets hairy as you have QoS, VPN, Firewall, access-lists, and a whole boat load of other things that can mess up or get in the way.
IPCommunicator is used for training.

I have also had the same experience with IP Communicator, It is sufficient for Training purposes, however aside from that it fails misserably in medium to large UCC deployments. QoS is vital to the timly delivery of RTP packets, you will run into audio duplex, echo, and jitter issues because the PC is not properly Tagging the Siginalling and Rtp packets.
