Frame Rerrors troubleshooting

Need some help toubleshooting.

Following Error:

0 input errors, 0 CRC, 654843447 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored

It seems like I am receiving a checksum error?

Is there a cisco posting on diagnosing the issue.

Now this router is connected via gigaethernet to a C4500 router.

No errors on the C4500 series router.. all values of 0.

Not really anything that indicates an issue, but I could be missing something.

One tool I use to diag interface issues is Cisco's Output Interpreter

Hi, considering that it is a L3 switch, you should ask the question in the "lan switching" forum.

It seems a false error indication to me, but I can be wrong.

in this case you are receiving the errors (frames), so i guess the problem is in your physical port that is receiving frames whithout adding CRC errors which surely would indicate transmition problems.

Make a loop test in your interface, a kind of local-loop which will show you if the same transmitted path is received.

check ur duplex setting and speed setting both in the switch and next machine

Remove auto mode and use specify mode like 10MPS and Half duplex and see if u sill getting the error as these things happens because of these error( cisco also recommend to code manually)
