UC520 FAX Routing

UC520 with FXO for POTS lines. 1 of the POTS line also services a single FAX Machine (Pretty standard for small business)

QUESTION - how to configure UC520 to detect inbound FAX call and route to FXS port supporting the FAX machine?

Our current Lucent Spirit system utilizes an AUX port that is tied to one of the inbound POTS port.

If possible, please reference documentation, manual(s), guide(s), etc explaining this topic/subject

Hi,

in short that is not a standard CME feature (automatic FAX detection). Easier would be to use an external device to do this, else you need to dig quite deep into TCL/IVR scripting, not recommended for basic installs.

For conversation sake, let's say that having a dedicated POTS line for fax transactions is not an option.

Outbound faxing is pretty straight forward, line is available or not, fax machine is configured to re-try until xx attempts.

Hi,

as mentioned above, there is no 'textbook' configuration for automatic routing of fax calls on a line that is also used for voice. In other words, it is not a supported feature.

A feature was relased in the past that was supposed to do this:

But I've never heard of anyone using it, and less, with CME.
