Getting this error message in DFM.

1) How can you increase the size of the nvram?

2) What else is stored in NVRAM besides the startup-config?

3) What is the recommended free NVRAM for a CORE/6000 series/CATos switch?

Thanks.

1) I don't recall ever hearing of a way to increase NVRAM. You *could* use tftp configuration if the config is too big. (But to need that you'd need a massive config...)

2) There are a couple files kept there, but usually not big enough to affect what you're doing...

Not yet. Is there a command to see what files are actually stored in NVRAM?

Thanks.

Hi,

on Cisco IOS switches the command is Switch#dir nvram:

it should list all files stored in NVRAM, you can also use Switch#dir flash: as an alternative of Switch#Show flash

I am sure on Cisco CatOs the commands are same and i cannot try them at this moment intime as I am not in the office.

This is CatOS so ...if that is the command to show the contents of nvram then what is the command to see the files stored on the pcmcia card?

Thanks alot!

on the pcmcia slot depending on the type of card (could be a disk maybe) dir slot0: if it is a disk type of devices then dir disk0:
