Cas-Custom and Trunk-Group commands

Hey all,

My situation is this:

1 Existing T1 between Nortel and 2821 with the following config:

controller T1 0/0/0

framing esf

linecode b8zs

ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-wink-start

cas-custom 0

trunk-group PBX timeslots 1-24

description PBX Connection

This is a working T1. My client wants to add a second T1 and describes the Nortel set-up like this:

The PBX is now setup as 48 channels, not 24. So..even though we have 2 separate T1's (loop4 and loop5) they are all stuck in 1 route and each assigned a channel 1-48.

We added a second T1 with the following commands:

controller T1 0/1/0

framing esf

linecode b8zs

ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-wink-start

cas-custom 1

trunk-group PBX timeslots 1-24

description PBX Connection

The calls started to fail after the 1st call. Our window closed before we could do some real troubleshooting on this part of the config so I have to get another window to make changes but I wanted some feedback since I have not used the "cas-custom" command with the "trunk-group" subcommand.

Does anyone have experience with this?

thanks

Try creating a trunk group and add the max-calls 48 to it and change your hunt scheme accordingly.

Example:

trunk group PBX
max-calls voice 48
hunt-scheme sequential

controller T1 1/0

framing esf

linecode b8zs

ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-wink-start

cas-custom 0

trunk-group PBX

Apply this trunk group to your pots dial peer

dial-peer voice XX pots
trunkgroup PBX
