Channelizing E1s on NM-2CE1T1-PRI & VWIC2-2MFT-G703 Modules

Hello,

1. Is it possible to channelize (more than 2 channels) all the four (4) E1 ports on a Cisco 2821 router with an NM-2CE1T1-PRI card with a VWIC2-2MFT-G703 module plugged in it.

2. Is it possible to channelize (more than 2 channels) the VWIC2-2MFT-G703 module when it is plugged directly on the router motherboard?

Thank you.

1. Yes. But you don't need any VWIC module plugged, NM-2CE1T1-PRI has T1/E1 ports.

2. Yes.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Hi,

Why is it that I get the error message that "there are not enough resources" when trying to channelize the onboard VWIC2 E1 card?

The VWICs also support a channelized capability where the T1 or E1 service can be flexibly split into two or more fractional channel groups. Thus a single physical port can provide connection to multiple sites. (Note: when choosing this mode only a single port can be supported in each WIC slot.)
