traffic across ATM over mPLS

I have a setup like this CE1->PE1->P1->P2->PE2->CE2. The CE and PE have ATM cards on them and the P routers are interconnected on POS with MPLS enabled on all of them. I am trying to run AToM on the PE. I see that the end to end PVC comes up and icmp works fine, but doesnt seem to pass any traffic.

A PVC if terminated on the PE1 locally from CE1 seems to work but not across the MPLS PE and P.

What could be the problem ?

Hi,

Could you please post the relevant CE and PE configs?

Regards, Martin

interface ATM2/0

no ip address

no atm ilmi-keepalive

end

CPE3700-A#sh run int atm2/0.3

Building configuration...

Current configuration : 137 bytes

!

interface ATM2/0.3 point-to-point

ip address 97.97.97.2 255.255.255.0

pvc 3/300

oam-pvc manage

encapsulation aal5mux ip

!

end

This is present in the CE routers and the PE as follows

interface ATM4/0

description To 3700

mtu 1500

no ip address

no atm ilmi-keepalive

no atm enable-ilmi-trap

bundle-enable

service-policy input atm-in

service-policy output atm-out

!

pvc 3/300 l2transport

oam-ac emulation-enable

oam-pvc manage

encapsulation aal5mux

xconnect 4.4.4.4 333 encapsulation mpls

!

end

The PE1 is 7200 and PE2 is 7600. Both have the same configuration on the interface

Hi,

Is there a specific reason not to use "encapsulation aal5snap"? In your setup only IP is allowed. Which traffic is affected? How does your routing across the PVC look like?

Regards, Martin

Hi Martin

There is no specific reason for not using the aal5snap,infact i have tried this too, but the problem remains be it aal5snap or aal5mux ip.

The affected traffic is any tcp traffic, or only the icmp is working.

I dont see any problems in routing as i can see the icmp working fine.
