Object tracking

Hi all,

I want to use object tracking to detect that internet link via one ISP is overloaded and change route of internet traffic to another ISP link.

I have to specify timeout under ip sla and need to determine what value to put.

We run many ftp session to have link overloaded and lauch ping from our router to the ISP router.

Is there a better way to monitor ping response time from router to another router?

From ping result, reponse time is about 380ms when link is overloaded. We tried to use it for timeout value.

At same time, we've run track.

Ping response time average is about 420ms but track reports about 300ms and state/reachability are still up, there's no change.

how can we have the rigth timeout value so that state/reachability change at the rigth time?

You can use the RTTMON MIB through this OID you can calculate the ping response time or RTT

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Would you like to give more information on how to do this?
