Hi All,
Having a slight issue, I have a BRI on a connected MGCP router that I need to have running as an NT.
It works fine when I add the command to the router;
Interface BRI 0/1/0
isdn protocol-emulate network
The problem comes when CM overwrites the BRI interface config and removes this line. I have found the offending line within CM as "Protocol Side" however I am only able to select User where I need to get this to change to network so it does not overwrite when MGCP gets the latest config.
Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
Lee

MGCP BRI operation is only currently supported for user side. This is documented here -
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/4_1_2/ccmcfg/b06gtway.html#wp1339535
Protocol Side
Choose the appropriate protocol side. This setting specifies whether the gateway connects to a Central Office/Network device or to a User device.
Note BRI supports only the User side.
If you network side operation, you will have to use H323. Refer here for additional details on configuring BRI voice cards for network side operation -

When interface resets occur, determine the source of the problem by examining other fields of the show interfaces serial command output.
Assuming that an increase in interface resets is being recorded, perform these steps:
If there is a high number of output drops in the show interfaces serial command output, refer to Troubleshooting Serial Line Problems.
Check the carrier transitions field in the show interfaces serial command output.
If carrier transitions are high while interface resets are being registered, the problem is most likely a bad link or a bad CSU or DSU.
Contact your leased-line or carrier service and swap faulty equipment as necessary.
Examine the input errors field in the show interfaces serial command output.
If input errors are high while interface resets are increasing, the problem is most likely a bad link or a bad CSU or DSU.
Contact your leased-line or other carrier service and swap faulty equipment as necessary.
