CCNA - which test should I take?

Unanswered Question
Jan 10th, 2008

Just before the test changed in November, I opted for the 2-exam track for the CCNA and passed my INTRO 640-821 with flying colors. I then studied for and took my ICND 640-811 but fell short with a 772.

Cisco says I can now be CCNA certified by passing the new ICND2, but I'm wondering if I should just study the new material and sit for the whole 640-802 CCNA exam since I obviously know the earlier material better and this would be roughly half the test.

Any suggestions?

Since you already passed INTRO last year, you can now become CCNA by passing 640-816 ICND2

However, you can also become CCNA by passing 640-802 CCNA

Now it depends on you which one you should take. If you think you are more prepared to tackle 640-802 CCNA and you feel more confident that you will pass it, then go for it. Otherwise, take 640-816 ICND2

I would recommend you to break the exam; just take the ICND 2 only. Taking the entire exam is a rescue bussiness and you can never be absolutely sure in CCNA b/c the exam is all about core concepts and real-worls apps.

Good luck
