Getting Voice Mail set up on for a device on Callmanager

Sorry for the rookie question but I have no experience and need assistance. I have a new phone that I plugged in the network. It acquired a number and can make and answer calls. I went into Unity and created a new subscriber for that number but VM does not pick up. What else do I need to do? There are other phones in the callmanager that do have VM that work fine. Also when I list the device the status is unregistered.

You will need to go into the settings for the directory number assigned to the phone and forward busy/unanswered calls to VM.

The phone shows unregistered, but it is working properly?
